Sooooooooooo sad am I. But I've learned and important lesson BACK UP YOUR FILES PEOPLE!!!!
Got word from the computer guy today - he couldn't retrieve any of my files...I've lost almost every photo of my second daughter's first year. I have some on myspace, and some on facebook, and some in some smilebox creations, so I didn't los EVERYTHING, but there was so much more that I had that I never got to do anything with...like her chicken pox pictures - the poor thing looked so cute, but they're gone...and her actual first birthday pictures...yep - those are gone too...Other DD's 4th birthday - and her party...yep - gone.
UGH - I think I'm going to go throw up...
Learn from me, if you haven't already - BACK 'EM UP!!!
Oh Tracey Im so sorry! That is just aweful. I had a scare a few months ago and thought I had lost a bunch of photos. I know that wanting to be sick feeling. Maybe you emailed some to people that still have the copies. I hope you find as many as possible. -Molly B
ReplyDeleteOh no, that is terrible! {{{{HUGS}}}. Maybe you can ask family or friends if they have some pictures...
ReplyDeleteDid you print any of them off ever? That way you could scan them back in and store them so if you ever want to do anything with them in the future, you'd still have a few of them to work with. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteHopefully your family has some photos of the girls that you could scan too. At least years from now, that'd give you some of A's first year, etc.
Oh no! I`d be sick too! That`s why I keep them in a separate photo program - namely Picasa2 - Picasa automatically saves any photos you upload to your computer so you will never lose them. My other computer is on the fritz and I was worried that I had lost a lot of pictures but when I opened Picasa2 on this computer all my pics were still there!
ReplyDeleteTracey- Soo sorry!!! I am right there with you!! The same thing happened to me about 1 1/2 years ago. I lost "all" my baby picts. of Kirsten. I am still sick over it. She always asks to see pict too..... Put your hard drive in a firesafe box in case you get rich and can afford to have them look into further. Now burn what you do have to 2 discs and give one to another family member for holding onto and put the other one in a firesafe box.
ReplyDeleteHumondo Hugs Girlie!!! (i've been there)!!!!
oh Tracey... I am so, so sorry! That really rots.
ReplyDeleteIt's happened to me too (if that's any consolation). Now we back them up on all the computers and on a portable hard drive.
Big, big {{{HUGS}}}....
I'm so sorry. We'll have to go through all the threads to find some pics. I KNOW there are chicken pox pics somewhere.
