WHERE does the time go???

The weeks seem to be just FLYING by, and I can't keep up - ha ha ha.

Just thought I'd pop in quick and share a little digi scrapbook layout I made with a new kit from Misty Cato.  It's called "You Can Be My Cowgirl" and it's SO great.  It will be perfect to (eventually) scrapbook all of the pics from vacation.

I did put together this page - with one of my favorite photos of my girls that I took on vacation.

The 'RHR' on the heart is for the place we stayed, it's called Rocking Horse Ranch, and they have the letters like that on the sign in their lobby, I thought it would be fun to add that in like that.

I need to get off to bed, I've been staying up too late - and will (hopefully) have a busy, productive day tomorrow!

Just Us Girls Challenge #19 - Sketch

Hello to you!!

I have TWO posts today - so please please read both :).  I'm the hostess this week, over at Just Us Girls.  This week is a sketch challenge - and here's what I came up with:

I love circles -- hope you do too, and will come and play along.

Instead of doing a card this week, I decided to dust off my digiscrapping skills, and make a page of my girls.

This layout uses a kit by Eva Kipler and Studio Flergs called Party Central.  It's available at Sweet Shoppe Designs.

I've gotten bitten by the bug to get some more of these pages done, I do enjoy playing with my digiscrappin' stuff (plus it's a LOT warmer on the computer upstairs than it is in the basement where my stamps are-lol) so you may see some more digital projects in the near future.

I hope you get to come play along this week -- can't wait to see YOUR take on the sketch.

Oh - and thanks for the feedback on you favorite Valentine's treats, I now have to stay away from all of the candy displays in the stores, as I'm craving a big fat marshmallow heart :). mmmmmmmmm.

Just Because...

I went to my friend Rebecca's blog, commnented on some recent layouts...and she asked when I was going to do some digi-scrap...

I had done a few projects recently, but hadn't posted them here. They were both posted on the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's site -- did you know that they raised OVER $6,000??? That's AWESOME! Glad I got to play along with some of the FABULOUS challenges...ahem, sorry, I go out on tangents now and then ;)

Soooooo, here's a project I made and gave to my Mom -- Now mind you, I actually made her a cool shadow box frame with fun jungle chipboard letters, but never took a picture of it...shame on me, before I gave it to her, so I 'edited' my digi page to incorporate the rest of what I had to say...


















I had gotten all of these funny faced pictures of my nieces and nephews (on my side of the family) and thought it would be hysterical to make a page of these faces, instead of catching the perfect smile, or posed shot...they are ALL so silly.

The kit is "Monkey Do" by Mindy Terasawa...


Onto my next creation...

















This was from a FABULOUS free digi kit (Flip Flop Tan by Libby Weifenbach) that was given to all of the SOA participants...I did a little page of some of our 'staycation' photos from last summer.

This is such a fun kit, with lots of bright colors, and super fun elements...

So tell me, do you digiscrap??? If not, is there a reason you don't? Don't like it, afraid to try it?? Tell me, I'd love to know. Also - love tips and tricks for PSE if you have some to share :)

I think I'd like to work a little more on my digiscrappin' skills this Summer...adding it to my list of goals.

A Little Digiscrappin'...

Well - sort of anyway.

This is more of a collage... I made this for my SIL and BIL for Christmas, but just got to give it to them on Saturday - so just in case she pops in to read, I didn't want her to see it.

Of COURSE I didn't take a picture of the actual COMPLETED project, it's 8x8 mounted on silver, then black 12x12. I framed it in a 12x12 scrapbook frame with some red primas...I'll have to invite myself over to take a picture of it on her wall ;).

Anyway - back to the photos. My SIL ALWAYS brings her camera - and she lets the nieces (the older ones that is) use it. I would be a basket case!! She's got a Canon rebel digital SLR. ooohhh it's nice. She's always taking pics of the kids and I thought I'd try to put something together to capture her favorite subject matter.

Most of these photos are actually hers. We lost all of our pics from 2008 except for some Smileboxes, Facebook and MySpace photo albums when our hard drive crashed back in November...I'm still REALLY sad about that. So I raided HER MySpace and Facebook, as well as my other SIL's and came up with this.

I don't actually consider this digiscrapping - only because, there are no embellies, that kind of thing...it's more of a digital collage, I guess, but I was super happy with the way it turned out.

Any of you who are familiar with the famous flautist, Sir James Galway will see him in 2 of the photos. My SIL got to meet him on St. Patrick's Day in New York City when he came and met with The Young Colonials, the Junior Fife and Drum Corps I used to belong to. Pretty neat.
