Are You Still Full From Thursday????

Thankfully, I am not.  I did well to pace myself this year, lol.  Hello out there!  Hope this message finds everyone refreshed after Thanksgiving, and looking forward to Christmas!

We've got our tree up, and the decorations up outside, too.  This is my favorite time of year!

Figured I'd pop by and share a little something here on the blog, it's been a while!

This is the card I made for my sweet husband for our Anniversary this year :).  He's not a sweet, sappy kind of guy, and boy, do we LOOOOOVE coffee.  Oh, and the fact that I even LIKE coffee is all his fault.I used an actual coffee mug to make the coffee rings on the card front, a little scrap of some patterned paper, and those sweet little 'to go' cups from Heart-2-Heart 1.

Way back when, before we had a house, kids, etc.  We would take a ride to this gas station JUST for a cup of coffee.  That was before Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks came to town...funny to think that we'd drive all that way just to get a cup of coffee...oh yeah, gas was probably $.99 a gallon then, too!  I could fill my tank, and buy 2 cups of coffee for less than $15!  Those were the days, lol.

But I digress...

I am so lucky to have such an amazing guy in my life, he completes me, and I truly am very, very blessed, one of the MANY things I am very grateful for...

Did you do any shopping this weekend?  I'm kind of down and out with a bit of a cold, so I stayed home, but did do a little shopping today via the internet.  Felt good to get started, but not even sure of everything I need to get...THAT'S the hard part!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

PTI Blog Hop Time!

It's the 25th - so it's Papertrey's monthly blog hop today!

This month's challenge was to utilize a non-traditional color scheme for a holiday card.  I fell in love with this color combo when I saw it:
However - when I sat down to make something...I think this looks more like a Spring card, instead of Christmas, lol.

I liked the idea of the colored snowflakes...and I liked the idea of the glittery flourish...but I can't help but think upon quick glance that those snowflakes are flowers...maybe it's the pearls??  I don't know...but anyway -- I'm loving all of the inspiration I've seen so far, can't wait to take some time tonight, and hop around some more.  Thanks for stopping by -- wishing you all a GREAT day!!

Ink: Versamark, Berry Sorbet

A Little Birthday Ombre...

Had some fun playing around with an ombre technique (that's fancy for repeated stamping without re-inking, lol).

I used the long line with a curl at the end image from Waltzingmouse Stamps Free Spirit -Boy set, obviously not using the curl part ;).  I just stamped, and then lined the stamp up next to the previous line, and worked my way out to the corner.  A nice big sentiment from PTI, and I was good to go!
I liked it so much - I made another one, but with different colors...and this time I added some cute little wood veneer stars...

Orange is my favorite color, so I think I may be a little partial to this one, which one do you like better??  This inquiring mind would like to know :).

I'm grateful the weekend is upon us, though it will be a busy one!  Thanks for stopping by, wishing you all a great day!!

Follow Your Dreams...

I made this one a while back, to submit for a publication, and it didn't get picked up.  Over the years, I've tried a few times, and it really is hard when you LOVE something you've made, but it just doesn't "fit" in the scheme of things the publication is looking for.  BUT -- I will keep submitting as I can, as I would love to be "in print" someday! :)

I cut a rainbows-worth (and then some) of cardstock with the Butterfly die from Papertrey Ink, and layered them into one, beautiful VERY dimensional butterfly, with a sparkly jeweled trail behind it :).

What are you dreams?  Winning the lotto, and retiring?  Going skydiving? Being a parent? Getting married?  I would love to hear.

Having a great weekend, hope you are, too!!  Thanks for popping by!

Hello!! It's been a while...

Hi there!  Remember me?  Yeah, I didn't think so...lol.  It's been SO long since I've posted!!  School is back in session, and we are slowly, reluctantly, but FINALLY getting back into the swing of things!  This Summer was a TON of fun, lots of adventure, and wonderful time spent with family.

I found this on my computer, and realized I never shared it -- so what better way to jump back in than with a 'Hello'! card :)

I loved these freebie images that Nichole Heady & Co. made available at one of the Papertrey Ink anniversaries :).  Fun little tags, and embellishments can be made from these!  I chose the 'Hello' sentiment, and punched it out.  I colored the bottom with my copics --and then started playing with my ribbon.  I thought it would be a fun idea to keep the card base black and white, and then have all these different colors of ribbon really make the statement.  So that's exactly what I did.  Different textures, colors, all added for a big punch of fun!

I'm hoping to make this more of a 'regular' thing (I know, I know, I've said that before...but for REAL this time!) So I hope you'll be back to visit!!

Have a great day!!

August Papertrey Blog Hop!

This will be a quick post -- let's face it - you've got lots of hopping to do!!

When I saw the inspiration photo on Nichole's blog - I was IMMEDIATELY drawn to that awesome tweed loopy flower.

I decided that I totally was going to make my own, and I sat down with some felt, a rotary cutter and ruler.  Well -- I had planned to do a step by step to show you how I made it, but I needed all hands on deck -- no one to take the photos - sheesh.  Perhaps I'll give this another shot when someone is home to help me, lol.

Anyway - it's not perfect, but I do love it -- lots of texture, and fun thrown in :).

Here is the completed card -- I love the sentiment, it fit just perfectly at the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by today - looking forward to all of your creations!!  We're having PERFECT Summer weather here - hope it's as beautiful where you are, too!

Stamp-A-Faire 2012!

I really have so many other things to do right now, but needed to blow off a little emotional steam this weekend, and what better way to do it, than STAMP! :)

Just so happens this weekend was Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire event, which was held entirely online this year.  A pretty neat concept, I think it worked out pretty well.  I really loved the hello and goodbye videos, as well as all of the techniques the whole Design Team worked on.  I was cracking up watching the outtakes of Heather Nichols' video on her blog...too funny!

Anyway - I didn't get to participate in ALL of the challenges, but I did get to do a few, so I thought I'd share :).

First up- is the morning make and take - I don't have the new Natural Beauties stamp set (yet! lol) but thanks to some birthday money - I will soon! I used Rosie Posie for mine instead.  Had fun with this little cutie -- and that sentiment has GOT to be one of my favorites of all time...ever.

Next, is the ribbon challenge... ha ha ha...yeah.  I think I was REALLLLY ambitious to try and do Betsy's technique -- and I'm sure that the jar candle I had to use (a large yankee candle jar that was burned about 1/2 way) didn't help... Glad I tried it, but will DEFINITELY need some more practice!

Lastly - and this one I made today, because I didn't have any shaving cream...until last night, lol.  I absolutely LOVE the results!!!  What do you think???  Can't wait to give this to someone special :)  Thanks to all of the Papertrey Ladies!!  So glad I got to play along!!!  Hoping to get to some more of the challenges if I can, they all looked GREAT!

Thanks for popping by!!!  Have a GREAT day!!!
