It's My Time to Create BUTTON Storage!
Hi all~
It's been a miserable dreary week here in NY. Wet, wet, and more wet...I think I'm permanently waterlogged ;). Listen, don't forget, we're still collecting money for the Weiman family, see this post for more information. Click on the widget in my sidebar to donate today!
It's Saturday -- so you all know what that means, it's time for a My Time to Create Challenge! The 3rd Saturday of each month is a Timeless Template Challenge -- so BREAK out those templates, and get creating...NO excuses, there are some FOR FREE over on the PTI website, go get one, and play along!
I've been buying all those pretty buttons from Papertrey Ink, as well as the square Trendy Tubes to store them in...but where to put the tubes??? They had been standing on a small double shelf next to my desk, propped against the wall, but I wanted something a little more substantial, like a container of sorts.
Lauren's templates are so versatile, and well constructed, I figured ONE of them had to work for me...so I went through the ones I have, and 'From the Desk of' is PERFECT! Did you know, that it will fit 5 trendy tubes across, in two perfect rows??? That's enough room to store 10 colors of buttons (and if you make a 2nd template and put them together back to back, there's room for 20!)
The challenge this week was to make a template using your own patterned paper. I love to use the Borders and Corners Circles set to make patterned paper. This time around, I used the colors that I have buttons of on the paper, and just stamped the different circles randomly all over the white cardstock.
I made a little label, in case no one knows the contents ;). Finished it off with a few buttons, what more perfect embellishment is there for button storage?
So tell me, have YOU employed any of these templates to organize your craft area?? I can see myself using more, like the perfect match box to create more storage for my area. Let me know your thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
Also, be sure to stop by the rest of the team's blogs, those who are participating in this week's challenge are in bold type.
